Frequently Asked Questions

Why is two-stage better than single-stage at the same HP?

Two-stage compresses air in two smaller steps with intercooling between them. Final discharge temperature drops by 20–30 °C, the pump runs cooler, oil breakdown slows, and cylinder wear is significantly lower — meaningfully longer service life.

How much air does 5.5 HP deliver?

600 L/min (≈21 CFM) intake at 10 bar — sustains one HVLP spray gun continuously, or 2–3 medium pneumatic tools working intermittently. Not enough for a full body-shop with 3 painters at once — step up to the 7.5 HP.

Is 500 L the right tank for 5.5 HP?

Yes — the general rule is 8–10 L of tank per L/min of pump output. At 600 L/min, 500 L is the sweet spot: enough buffer to keep duty cycle around 50–60% without excess bulk.

How noisy is it?

Typical noise level is 80–83 dB(A) at 1 m. Because it runs cooler than a single-stage, noise stays more constant. Install with rubber vibration mounts and a short flexible hose to the pipework.

What maintenance intervals apply?

Oil change every 500 hours or 6 months, air filter clean every month and replace every 2000 hours, belt tension every 3 months, valve inspection at 2000 hours. Daily condensate drain is mandatory in humid climates.
